Install the Pumpkin Radio AA0452H on my Opel Vectra C GTS 05

After a long time, I finally decided to buy the radio.
I drive an Opel Vectra C GTS 05.
The old standard radio did its job, but the radio reception was sometimes really bad, even using a Bluetooth transmitter to listen to music via Spotify was a real pain after some time, depending on the region where you were traveling, the reception was So bad that I just turned the radio off because a constant noise is just a pain.
The radio came pretty quickly. Then I went straight to expanding the old radio. First remove the 4 Torx screws with a T8 screwdriver so that I could remove the radio from the radio slot using the supplied pull-out brackets, then carefully removed all cables and loosely screwed the frame from the old radio using a T20 screwdriver to remove it.
Then I plugged the specially ordered antenna adapter into the radio, screwed the wifi antenna and glued it inside the car and then the same thing again with the GPS antenna. Then I connected all the other cables and inserted the radio.
Then I pushed a 32GB SD card into the slot for the GPS card and pushed a 128GB SD card into the SD slot.
Then I started the engine and the radio went on.
The first start took a little time because everything had to be loaded first. The two memory cards were recognized directly and I still had to assign which card should do what.
After setting up, I switched off the engine and the radio went off on its own. After restarting the engine, it started again and was ready to start very quickly.
I park about 10m away from my house, nevertheless I have a very good WiFi signal to my home network. The connection via Bluetooth with my Galaxy Note 10 works very well and by itself.
The radio quality is a difference like a day and night, so highly recommended.
The quality of Bluetooth tested with me with Spotify, again a whole lot better.
Navigation via the Google Maps app on the radio works super well and without any problems.
I had to relearn the steering wheel buttons but it was half as wild and you have a lot of different options that you can put on the buttons, which I really like.
On the whole, I am very happy to have chosen the radio. So now I have a super car radio with a lot of functions that really work.
I highly recommend it.

Feature rich upgrade for older cars

pumpkin AA0406B 7 inch android9.0 2 din universal car radio

I have had this Pumpkin 7” 2 Din 8 core car radio installed in my 20-year-old Focus for a couple of months now. It’s double din but it seems Fords version of double din is slightly different. I had to ‘modify’ the dash bezel to get it to fit, that is nothing against this device.

For the most part, it’s been excellent, I’m far from an expert in installing something like this but have it running with all bells and whistles (Bluetooth, wifi, backup camera, etc.). Having it display battery voltage on the main screen has been incredibly valuable to learn and understand the power consumption.

I don’t believe you can use this without the engine running for too many minutes before it bleeds too much juice from the battery, having a visual display of the voltage is so useful, it could just be my car and/or battery but it should be no surprise it’s more power-hungry than what was originally intended for my car. I have yet to look into possibly a larger battery to counter/accommodate it.

The other day the screen couldn’t seem to make it minds up on brightness level and flicked levels every 10 or so seconds, that hasn’t happened since, but it happened.

I am suspecting my starter motor may be on it’s way out as the ‘instant on’ feature is proving somewhat unreliable whereas initially, it worked great. Again, I have a 20-year-old car and new to this type of install, to me, there may be calculable reasons for the above and I do not believe it’s this device but rather my lack of knowledge and understanding. I say this as a caution to others, maybe get a professional to install and advise!

Other than that I’m really happy with it and it’s a fraction the cost of a bigger name brand with all or more features and it’s Android so massive potential in customization.

As for the design, having an actual volume dial was a key factor in me choosing this, the physical Home and Back buttons have also proven superior to the touchscreen options. One tiny gripe is the black outer bezel sticks out from the screen a touch too much, so when using the touchscreen on the top edge is a tiny bit awkward, but it’s not that big a deal. I’m a bit of a fiend with devices, in hindsight, I would have liked 8 gigs of RAM, again not that big a deal.

Overall I very much recommend this device.

Perfect for my Honda Civic 2007

I bought a Pumpkin 2 Din 7 inch Android car radio several weeks ago.It is perfect for my Honda Civic 2007.
The sound quality isn’t the best I’ve heard, but still very good. The touch screen is instantaneous, and I love that you can download apps to it. The wifi and GPS have worked flawlessly so far. I’ve used both my home wifi in the driveway and my phone as a mobile hotspot. The video quality isn’t as sharp as my phone but far exceeded my expectations. I’ve made several Bluetooth calls and asked the person on the other end how it sounded, and they couldn’t tell I was on Bluetooth. I ordered the pumpkin backup cam which also works awesome, but the wiring instructions were garbage. My only issue so far is that I seem to have to connect the BluPetooth every time I get in. There is an automatic connect function, but it doesn’t seem to quite work. It’s quick and easy to do from the head unit, so not that big of a deal. I may just not have figured it out yet. Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend!perfect for Honda Civic 2007
