Backup camera is a special type of video camera that is produced specifically for the purpose of making reverse easier and lessening the risk of accidents while parking. It can offer a driver a way to see their blind spot, no matter how dark it is or what the weather is like.

Normally, backup camera has these 4 features to increase driving safety.
1.Night vision
It uses infrared lights to help illuminate the area behind you, in addition to the light from your tail lights.
2.View angle
Backup camera offers great visibility, has at least a 110-degree scope, with some expanding up to 170 degrees.
3.IP rating
IP rating used to define levels of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures against intrusion from foreign bodies (tools, dirt etc.) and moisture. IP ratings are made up of two numbers. The first number is expected to be six. This means the device is protected against dust. The second number is its water rating, which you need to be a three at the very least (rated for heavy rain), though we recommend finding something with a six or higher. For example, IP68 guarantees protection in water up to 1.5m deep for half an hour and is resistant to dust. The number 6 stands for the highest level of dust-proof performance, the number 8 stands for the waterproof performance of more than 1 meter depth .
4.Park line making
Making park lines helps to improve safety when park car.

Navigation is one of the necessary functions of a car stereo. It offers real-time GPS navigation, traffic, and transit info, and explore local neighborhoods by knowing where to eat, drink and go. With navigation, you just need to see the car stereo screen instead of the small screen on your smartphone. So you can still concentrate on your road while driving.

Pumpkin car stereos support many navigation systems, such as Google Maps, Waze, Garmin, iGo, Sygic, etc.

pumpkin AA0483S ford head unit

Bought and fitted it into my son’s 2013 Ford Mondeo Titanium X 1.6T. All works really well and looks fantastic.
Couple of points of note.
1. The car had the Sony DAB stereo which has 2 aerial feeds. You need a Fakra to DIN adapter to connect the aerial to the new head unit.
2. I fitted the external mic that came with the kit. I ran the cable under the drivers side of the dash and up the A-Pillar. It’s just about long enough to place the mic at head height on the pillar but I would have preferred to run it up to the roof where it would be less obvious. I suggest buying a 1m 3.5mm jack extension lead if you want to do the same.
3. Shows radio station in the main dash screen.
4. I initially fitted the GPS aerial under the dash as I had done on a similar unit in my other son’s Focus, but the signal was quite low. It would have probably worked but around town it may have been a problem so I ran the cable under the passenger side of the dash, up the A-pillar and placed it on top of the Dash in the corner under the screen. Signal significantly better. I only say this to stop you having to take the unit out again after putting everything back like I did!!
5. It came with 2 wiring harnesses. I used the one with the Canbus box attached to it and all works as expected. I’m not sure what would have happened had I fitted the other one.
6. I didn’t fit a camera. The car has rear sensors that were audible only. The Pumpkin unit now adds a radar to the screen and the beeping sounds coming from the unit instead of the car. My only issue, which is still to be reviewed is that the graphic and beeping doesn’t stop when you come out of reverse and start driving forward. It seems odd to me but my son says it was like that with the factory unit and he presses the park sensor buttons. He’s happy but I’ll wait a few days until he’s used it properly to decide.
7. Unit is very responsive and the Google maps work really well.
8. Phone is good, contacts all downloaded fine.
Overall it really freshens up the car making the interior much more modern.
Very pleased overall.
